Popular country time zone maps

Open country-focused maps for the most searched time-zone lookups, from the United States and Canada to India, China, and Japan.

Time zone maps by continent

Region-specific maps focus on the cities and IANA time zones that matter most for each continent.

One hub for every WorldStats map

WorldStats maps are not embedded widgets. Every interactive map is generated from the same country, city, IANA time zone, and population datasets that power the rest of the site, so a click on a marker always opens a real data page with sources, methodology, and historical context.

How these maps stay accurate

City clocks use IANA time zone IDs and `Intl.DateTimeFormat` for current local time, UTC offsets, and DST detection. Country shading uses World Bank population, GDP, growth, and life-expectancy data. Continent groupings follow UN region classifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Every map is rendered from WorldStats data, including the country borders, city positions, IANA time zones, and population values. Markers and country links open the matching data page on the same domain.

Each city is tagged with its IANA time zone (for example Asia/Tokyo or America/Sao_Paulo). Current local time and UTC offset are computed with the standard ECMAScript Intl APIs, and DST status is detected by comparing January and July offsets for that exact zone.

Each map focuses on a practical task: exploring country statistics, comparing current local times, checking UTC offsets, or opening a city or country page for deeper details.
