WorldStats is operated by Jan Krenek, a self-employed entrepreneur in the Czech Republic, IČO 17397979. For personal data processed through worldstats.org, Jan Krenek is the data controller unless a third-party provider is independently responsible for its own service.

You can contact the operator for privacy questions, correction requests, or legal notices at hello@worldstats.org. This policy applies to worldstats.org, localized versions of the site, public API endpoints used by the site, and supporting infrastructure used to deliver those features.

When you use the site, hosting, CDN, analytics, security, and logging systems may receive technical information such as IP-derived country or region, browser and device details, requested URL, referring URL, timestamps, language preference, consent state, and diagnostic or abuse-prevention signals.

If you use interactive features, we process the information needed to answer the request. This can include search terms, selected locale, page parameters, selected countries or cities, date and time inputs, conversion values, coordinates used for weather or air-quality lookups, and messages you send to hello@worldstats.org.

WorldStats does not require account registration to browse the site, does not process payment card information, and does not intentionally ask users to submit special-category sensitive personal data.

Most calculator and converter inputs are processed in your browser to produce the result shown on the page. WorldStats does not create user accounts or store personal calculation histories.

Some features may still generate ordinary technical logs, cache keys, analytics events, or API requests needed to operate the site. Do not enter confidential, medical, legal, tax, or financial information into public web tools unless you are comfortable with the normal technical processing required to deliver a website.

WorldStats uses cookies, local storage, and similar browser technologies to remember preferences, store consent choices, set language and unit preferences, protect the service from abuse, measure traffic, and improve usability.

Strictly necessary storage supports core site operation. Functional storage remembers choices such as language, temperature units, and clock format. WorldStats may share information with providers that help operate the site, including hosting, CDN, security, analytics, observability, database, cache, email, and advertising providers. Current or likely providers include Cloudflare, Google services, Umami where configured, Open-Meteo for weather-related data, and other source APIs or infrastructure services used to fulfill requests.

When you request weather, forecast, air-quality, timezone, or similar live data, relevant request details may be processed by WorldStats infrastructure and, where applicable, upstream services used to provide that response.

We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of WorldStats, users, providers, or the public.

WorldStats is operated from the Czech Republic, but the website uses globally distributed internet infrastructure. Providers may process data in the European Economic Area, the United States, and other countries.

Where required, transfers rely on adequacy decisions such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, standard contractual clauses, provider data processing terms, or other safeguards recognized by applicable law.

WorldStats keeps personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Server and security logs are typically kept for short operational periods unless needed to investigate abuse, security incidents, or legal requests.

Analytics records may be retained according to the configured provider retention period. Support and correction emails may be retained for up to 24 months or longer if needed to document a privacy request, legal issue, or recurring data-quality problem. Cached API responses may persist temporarily in edge, CDN, KV, database, or application caches for performance and resilience.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data we hold about you. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To make a privacy request, email hello@worldstats.org. We may need to verify your request and may decline or limit a request where the law allows, for example when we cannot identify you from the information provided or must keep limited records for security or legal reasons.

WorldStats is a general-audience informational website and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing purposes.

WorldStats does not sell a user database. If advertising services are enabled, some advertising identifiers may be considered sharing or targeted advertising under certain privacy laws. Where applicable, consent and opt-out tools are provided through cookie controls, browser settings, advertising provider controls, or legally required privacy messages.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures such as HTTPS, security headers, traffic filtering, access controls, caching boundaries, and provider-level protections to reduce risk.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
